Hai Sing 50th Anniversary speech day 2009 just finished. As it is the 50th Anniversary, there ws a presentation that was created. It comprises of pictures from 1959 until now -- 50 years. Including the Pictures of the construction of the current campus in Pasir Ris and the new block.

The pictures were from black-and-white until clear-coloured pictures. From super long skirts to the altered-skirts now. Saw those senior teachers when they were still young and ......

Meet Alicia Chua, Adwyna and Jia Sen. ( all went to Meridian)

This is THE most sought after seat, but Alicia Long was the one who took it.

There was this number 50 which was placed at the back of the hall made up of balloons
(had forgotten to take pic of it)

Now my results are practically sliding. English has gotten from bad to worse, Physic is just BAD. I can barely absorb anything related to Chemistry, my maths are also abit rusty. DnT is not as hip as it used to be, SS..... 'un-describle' . It not that I am depressed but darn worried, I was just mortified that my physic was just a just-pass mark. PG was Okay but not as good as I had hoped for. My history test on Cuba is tomorrow. Mid year is 14 days away, with SS and English paper 1 first. The timetable could not be any more worst then what we have now....

So wish me luck!!

Wild swans by Jung Chang is a really captivating book, go read it!

James Patterson's 8th confession is out AND I cannot wait to read it....

Come on People lets help e Earth!!!

http://www.earthhour.org/

You Are a Banana
You are mellow, easy going, and a total softie on the inside.People find it really easy to get along with you. You suit most tastes. And while you're very sweet, you're not boring or ordinary. You have an attraction to the exotic, and you could show up anywhere... doing almost anything! You are spirited, energetic, and a total kick to be around. You're also quite funny. Your sense of humor is on the goofy side, and it fits you well.

WTH!?!?!......

Tuesday, 3 March 2009

Yes!!! I am correct!!!
A megacity is usually defined as a metropolitan area with a total population in excess of 10 million people.[1] Some definitions also set a minimum level for population density (at least 2,000 persons/square km). Megacities can be distinguished from global cities by their rapid growth, new forms of spatial density of population, formal and informal economics, as well as poverty, crime, and high levels of social fragmentation. A megacity can be a single metropolitan area or two or more metropolitan areas that converge upon one another. The terms conurbation and metroplex are also applied to the latter. The terms megapolis and megalopolis are sometimes used synonymously with megacity.

We got the results today and.............................no we did not qualify for the Geo-trails. DAMN! OMG I was so depressed in the morning and the only thing could do was to throw paper in the basket to make myself high... But... that did not work either because I some how just kept missing that basket.

Gosh!!! I am seriously crapping right now!!

Can i go back to sec 2 so i can still participate in Geo challenge for 2 more years? :)

Monday, 2 March 2009

Oh my!! It is going to be a movie!!!

And this is the official trailer.....

Saturday, 28 February 2009

Just came back from the NUS Geography Challenge and this year's is definitely much more difficult than last year. This year's theme is on cultural heritage so it is a bit foreign to all of us.

The MCQ was killing us in the first part but it was quite okay when it went nearer to the middle and the back where most of the physical geog questions and the general knowledge questions are.

The most pathetic thing was still the fact that I mixed up the Corolis Effect and the Trade Winds (totally CRAP! could have just killed myself)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trade_winds
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coriolis_effect

Oh ya there was this question on NATO too!!! so now we have to study history too, Slovakia and Spain are both members of NATO!! There were a total of 26 members in it

Morocco share borders with TWO countries. Canada does not. and I chose that option. crap!

The United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference, commonly known as Bretton Woods conference, was a gathering of 730 delegates from all 44 Allied nations at the Mount Washington Hotel, situated in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire to regulate the international monetary and financial order after the conclusion of World War II.[1]
The conference was held from 1 July to 22 July 1944, when the agreements were signed to set up the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). (Wikipedia)

On the case of the Myrdal's theory of cumulative causation.

TAIGA -- Taiga (pronounced /ˈtaɪgə/, from Turkic[1] or Mongolian) is a biome characterized by coniferous forests. Covering most of inland Alaska, Canada, Sweden, Finland, inland Norway and Russia (especially Siberia), as well as parts of the extreme northern continental United States (Northern Minnesota, Michigan, Upstate New York, New Hampshire, and Maine), northern Kazakhstan and Japan (Hokkaidō), the taiga is the world's largest terrestrial biome. Boreal forest is the term used to refer to the southern part of this biome, while "taiga" is used to describe the more barren northern areas of the Arctic tree line.

CAN ANYBODY JUST ANYBODY TELL ME WHAT MASS MOVEMENT IS IN TERMS OF GEOGRAPHICAL CONTEXT???!?!?!?!?!?!

In the second round there was the group work. It was something like how are we going to preserve e nationhood and national identity, and can you believe they just gave us 45 minutes for it and we wrote very short because there wasn't enough time. Furthermore there were a lot of points and could not elaborate on them very well. What should have been a essay of at least 3 pages, we could only do until 1.5 pages although it was not very good but we did manage to convey our points out well, I think.

Hope we can get through to the next round!!!!!! then GEO-TRAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lolz. just found the video that we submitted for NUSGC08 on youtube

ya... I know but what ever I am proud of it!!

but the one that I love is still ACS(baker rd)'s.

Haha getting my new phone today. Altough it is quite an old model but the functions in it are quite good and it is within my budget. Ya.... IF i really had the $$$ then i would go for the Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic, but unfortunately no.

I went there and stay for one hour only because I still had Emaths tuition later So....yah....sad right and the nearest i went was about 50 m cause those people who were at e 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th floor were just so high......... so pathetic little me just had to settle for the 6th floor where every thing was ant-like

just to look at the crowd...

This was taken from THE 6TH FLOOR

the 1st to the 5th floor were literally filled with people

this was the queue outside Simei for the autograph session

This was taken from the top-most level - 6th
